How to download YouTube as MP4 with CornerCat

Open CornerCat from the menu bar
Click the cat icon at the top of your Mac screen, or press ⌘⌥C. Open the download tab if another tool is selected.

Paste the video link
Copy the YouTube video link into the link field. CornerCat checks the source before offering the download.

Pick MP4 for video
MP4 is the video option. It includes audio when the source has an available audio track. Pick MP3 if you only want the audio.

Save a local copy
Click Save MP4. CornerCat saves the finished video in your selected download folder, ready to open from Finder.
A video file you can come back to
An MP4 is a local video file, so you can open the saved copy again without revisiting the link. CornerCat keeps the download workflow in a small Mac panel rather than making this website a browser converter.
MP4 or MP3?
MP4 is for the picture and available sound. MP3 is for an audio-only file. Both YouTube download options are free. The separate Pro Convert tab is for changing the format of local files you already have.
Your folder, your files
Set your download destination in Settings → General. Downloads go there instead of being spread across unfamiliar locations. The optional navy blue cat can sit on your desktop, but you can use the menu bar app with the mascot switched off.
Source availability still matters
CornerCat cannot guarantee every link, resolution, or audio track. The result depends on the media the source makes available. Private, removed, restricted, or login-required posts may not download. The installer requires an M1-or-newer Mac and macOS 12 or later.

Yes. YouTube MP4 and MP3 downloads are included in CornerCat Free, without signing into a CornerCat account.
Does MP4 include sound? +
